Who I am ?
Welcome, visitor! Let me introduce myself: as you can read in bold at the top-left of this page, my name is Alessandro Straziota, and I am a PhD student in Data Science at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, under the spervision of Prof. Luciano Gualà, and co-supervides by Prof. Andrea Clementi. My main research interests (and my actual research work as PhD) lie in Theoretical Computer Science, particularly in Data Structures and Randomized Algorithms for Dynamic/Streaming Data.
A photo of myself on my motorcycle.
As I just mentioned, I’m passionate about theoretical computer science. But that’s not all…
I’m interested in computer science in general, in every aspect of it — both theoretical and practical.
So, besides studying complex theorems and proofs, I have a lot of fun programming and tinkering with computers.
Most of all, I love implementing data structures in C++, learning new programming languages and paradigms.
Maybe all this sounds a bit boring to you. Maybe you are right. But I assure you, I do have “normal” hobbies too! For example, I enjoy painting miniatures (see this or this), and I love riding my motorcycle (see right 👉).
That’s pretty much all I have to say, mostly because, unfortunately, my days only have 24 hours. And after sleeping and taking care of other basic needs, there’s not much time left for additional hobbies.
Oh, almost forgot! My favorite color is green, my favorite pizza is Margherita with mozzarella di bufala 🍕, and I love beer 🍺.1
